Leonard and I became friends in our early teens while attending catecatical classes at the Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Washington, DC. We actually grew up in that church.  I just couldn't get Leonard to join the Boy Scouts.  I can recall Leonard saying that sleeping under the stars just wasn't for him. (smile)  Leonard had quite a sense of humor and was near genius level in intelligence.  He always fascinated me and others with his brillant knowledge of everything.  He became quite disappointed after earning his Masters Degree in Sociology and found that he could earn more at the Post Office and there is where he stayed until his death.

He was a good friend and I will always remember him and his great sense of humor.
